Bon Iver & St. Vincent: "Roslyn"

I am Jacob Black and I’m a fucking werewolf! While in theory this is the most awesome fucking shit that could ever happen and I should be just wrecking ass all over the place, I also am actually very sad. You see, I am involved in a love triangle and am the odd werewolf out in said triangle. And so this song that Bon Iver wrote about me is fairly perfect in that nothing happens in it despite Justin Vernon’s capacity for catharsis, and just like I am a werewolf and all logic demands that the fucking werewolf should get the girl and not some pussy vegan vampire—so nothing much happens here. A wolf is not inherently awesome, and neither is a man; both Bon Iver and I underestimate the power of metamorphoses. Embracing them, this song might rock a little bit and I might get some play. I mean seriously if you can’t get play as a werewolf you might as well just quit. Anyway.
