The Mae Shi: "See You Again"

A cautionary tale at 15, Miley Cyrus is one Mike’s Hard Lemonade away from “hot mess” status. Hate Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato all you will, but none of your maudlin treacle has ever been covered by one of the bands from Los Angeles’ hipster haven The Smell. Every bit as infectious as the original, these Cal Arts boys pile on the Buchla synths and stretch it out to the five minute mark, all the while reveling in one of postmodernism’s fundamental tenets: bereft of a central hierarchy, there’s absolutely no shame in covering a Miley Cyrus tune. Especially not when it’s done like this.
