Thurston Moore & Jemima Pearl: "Sheena Is A Punk Rocker"

With the whip-smart Liz Phair on lead scoring duty for the new 90210 on Tuesday nights, it’s only mildly surprisingly then that the ginger godfather of indie rock should show up on that other CW teen sexcapade—Monday night’s East Coast foil “Gossip Girl.” By comparison, Moore’s a second tier, prime time dramedy pro. (Back in 2006, he, wife Kim and daughter Coco popped up on the season finale of the WB estrogen fest “Gilmore Girls” to perform “What A Waste” from Rather Ripped.) And while neither Moore nor former Be Your Own Pet brat Jemina Pearl actually appear on screen, this cover of the Ramones’ glorious ode to female teenage abandon is the perfect choice to soundtrack a highfalutin charity ball turned guerrilla fashion show. Take that Lilly and Bart Bass. You’d best not fuck with Jenny Humphrey.
