Second up in our series of biweekly year-end podcasts, the suggestively titled CXLIX is a predominantly ballad-heavy folk/country/rock-centric mix, perfect for hour-long walks in the middle of nowhere when it’s snowing outside—except for four-ish minutes during Marianne Faithfull’s “Mother Wolf” when chunks of hail aggressively pummel you into a cowering husk.
