Art: Combination of pieces from conradcrespin.com

Oh hey there, Cokemachineglow reader. Long time. I know; we’ve missed you too. Missed your ironic sneers; your unintelligible hate mail; your admirable attempts to replace us. And we return to you now, on the cusp of December, to remind you that beneath all the bustle and spending lies the true reason for the spirit of the season: us.

So eat it up, suckers, because we’re going to be dumping gift-wrapped wordbundles on you for the next month like Santa can’t even imagine. In the meantime, feel free to play around with this new design we’ve come up with. Go comment on some of your favorite old reviews. Double-click on the center of that nifty music player at the bottom of the page, and see what happens. Let us know what you like, and what you don’t. We might even listen!

And while you’re doing these things, enjoy some of the best music that’s been released over the last few months. We’ve been blessed with tracks from stalwart favorites like Yo La Tengo, Deerhoof, and Menomena, rising stars like Kendrick Lamar and Angel Haze, and a particularly creepy Marissa Nadler covering a Daniel Johnston classic. Let these songs be your official, and officially free, soundtrack for holiday shopping.

If you’re into that kind of thing.
