Fair warning: this long and somewhat moody podcast features a series of boorish segues, courtesy of the Black Box—this little plastic tombstone-shaped piece of shit:

And by “little plastic piece of shit” I really mean “the Led Zeppelin IV of nightmare-inducers,” and also a fun collector’s item (limited to 2000 headstone things!). Plus it comes with, as promised by its maker, “sixteen-feet-under transmissions from beyond the grave’s grave.” Totally. This also applies to Evangelista’s “The Slayer.”

Basically it’s just a bunch of muddled loops, which you could a) fuck with and make creepier, as I’ve aimed for here, or b) hide strategically, as to get revenge on those you don’t like by annoying them. (For ideas on where to effectively hide the Black Box, see the dead fish scene from Dirty Work.) Living in an apartment and looking to piss off neighbours and your landlord? Tape eight of these suckers, each at top volume and repeating a different loop, on your ceiling before your next vacation. If you’ve got an amp you can plug it in, if you must, though the cheap speaker it comes with really adds to the “holy living christ why won’t this stop” aura. All for just twenty bucks a pop!
