With thanks once again to all the artists and labels involved, this is the first in a series of many Summer 2010 podcasts designed specifically for one purpose: drowning out each new horror-slapstick twist of this fucking oil spill. Since, really, we all know the news is only going to get worse from here, if you bother to follow it. (Potential Horrorshow #73: a Cloverfield–like scenario where we awaken a ruthless, grotesque monster of the seas.) Instead, who wouldn’t rather be bearhugged by happiness itself with Shugo Tokumaru’s “Lahaha”? And that’s just the first three minutes!
Even better, when hurricanes inevitably start spitting out enormous flaming tarballs along the eastern seaboard, this podcast will also double as a soundtrack to your heroic survival…should one be possible once infernocane season further angers those deep sea monsters, which may or may not look like this, but oilier:
