So, with 2010 winding down, seems like a good time to announce some CMG year-end related news: we won’t be doing another Fantasy Covers podcast this December. There’s a lot of good reasons for this—primarily the phenomenal Double Fantasy Covers two-fer from just, like, seven months ago; they’re still awfully fresh and available for free here, As for the future of the series, we’ve got plans for something at some time in 2011, which may or may not involve everyone covering the “Runaway” video in costume.

Silver lining: after the success of the Fantasy Covers Contest earlier this year, from which we expected to use one or two but ended up going with seven (!) submissions, we’re soon announcing our first entirely reader-submitted Fantasy podcast. The theme? Hit us up at contest@cokemachineglow.com with your best ideas. We’ll announce the winning theme, and kick off the actual contest (of sorts), with next week’s podcast.

In the meantime, we’ve got the perfect mix for your mid-November plans—which surely now include breaking out and dusting off that old Tascam in preparation for some homemade fantasy covers. So, with gratuitous amounts of love to all of the artists and labels involved, enjoy:
