LXXXVIII
By Scott Reid | 5 February 2011
Hey, so apparently CMG is up for an “award”—or at least something vaguely award-ish—for the first time since 2008, when we got nominated by PLUG as Best Music Website. Which…well, that didn’t turn out so well for either party: we somehow lost (please, send your disgust to three years ago), and PLUG, realizing their unfortunate mistake in declaring Pitchfork the winner instead, immediately shut down shop, never to give out another award (…a Pluggie?) again. Way to fuck up.
This time we’ve been nominated by CBC Radio 3, an institution that’s actually worth keeping around. So let’s not allow them make the same mistake as PLUG, lest Radio 3’s mascot Bucky (a goose with the head of a deer, naturally) be forced to live out his horrifically mutated life with immense shame and regret. C’mon, guys. He has it hard enough as is:

What you can do: vote for us at http://radio3.cbc.ca/?%2Fpolls%2F%3FpollId=94#/polls/?pollId=94, and help us win the “search for the best Canadian Music Website.” Like it was ever in doubt. You can vote once every 24 hours, and no signing up is required; at the very least I implore you to vote enough to help us get ahead of Matthew Good’s website, and that one guy’s Twitter feed. I mean, really.
As a thank you for helping us dominate this contest, or whatever it is, we give you this podcast. With much love to all of the artists and labels involved, please enjoy as you count down the hours until you can vote for us again:
