With the sincerest of thanks to the artists and labels involved, this week’s podcast—a mix prepared with what I can assure you was the utmost care here at CMG Labs—is dedicated to our short-lived, though not exactly ill-advised, zine rebranding efforts. At a widely attended press conference held in the spacious lobby of our New York office last week, our editorial team gathered to announce, at the behest of our newly hired marketing department (themselves egged on by Dom), that all production of original Cokemachineglow content was to cease, to be immediately replaced by content produced with a new, more cutting edge formula. This “New Cokemachineglow,” as it came to be known, was to be a sweeter, bolder iteration of the Cokemachineglow Americans had grown to love. But despite a multimillion dollar advertising campaign (anyone catch the CMG-sponsored blimp hovering above Coachella?) and a personal blog endorsement from none other than David “Boogz” Greenwald, public backlash to the newly reformulated New Cokemachineglow was fierce.

The message was clear: the old Cokemachineglow wasn’t merely a webzine, it was a pillar of American pride. And who were we to fuck with American pride? So we did the only thing we could—we promptly announced the dissolution of our haughty marketing department, rescinded all deliveries of New Cokemachineglow content, and proudly reintroduced the snark you hold so dear: Cokemachineglow Classic.

So, with that commercial legacy in mind, enjoy the cool, refreshing sounds of this Cokemachineglow Classic podcast:
