I’m Dave (hi!). I am relatively new here at the Glow and in the absence of a proper introduction there is perhaps one prescient thing you should know about me: I like songs. It’s not that I dislike banging, clicks, ideas, time signatures, atmosphere, or scritchy noises, exactly, but rather that my interest lies primarily in songs that are music. I encourage anyone interested in enjoying an 18 minute epic of pure avant-garde math that sounds like a particularly raucous chicken coup filled with 41 marmots and a randomized ham radio to do so. For those, on the other hand, who like songs that have music and instruments and things on them (like my gentle reader, perhaps?), this is a podcast.

A big thank you to all the artists who lent their songs, and to the gracious labels and tireless PR people who lent their time and effort. Particular kudos goes out to the Acorn, who recorded their take on Cyndi Lauper’s “The Goonies R Good Enough” specifically for this podcast. And give it up for HILOTRONS, who once again provide tracks for the Glow. Does it count as a conflict of interest if you’re BFF with the whole Ottawa rock scene?

Finally, my heart goes out to the justices of the Supreme Court of the United States of America. May it please the court…that you are ttly crushing it, right?! High fives!
