XXXVIII

By Scott Reid | 13 February 2008

Many thanks to all artists and labels involved with this podcast, and PR reps who continue to be extremely gracious to us.

An extra special thanks to Jacob Smigel, whose excellent found sound comp, Eavesdrop, I use liberally throughout. Check it—it’s a kitsch buy, sure, but it’s totally worth it for the insanely detailed liner notes and included bits of found other-shit. I got a random photo (above) and this half-piece of loose leaf:

Priceless! Plus I guess you get to contract whatever was in the dumpster he dug this stuff out of. Just kidding—he collects from only the most sanitary dumpsters.**

Also, Roommate deserve an extra plug for the incredible Fall Out Boy cover they recorded for our 2007 Fantasy podcast. So if you have to be selective here, at least give the great title track * from their new album, We Were Enchanted, a listen.

And yes, the Black Mountain track does sort of sound like Rush. Embrace it.

Disclaimer: Jacob Smigel does not actually collect scrap paper from dumpsters, disease-riden or otherwise, and send them to you in his CD packaging. As far as we know. It’s possible.
